Cloudways is probably one of the best managed VPS hosting for WordPress, no doubt in that, but there is a problem with it.
If you are here, then most probably you know what the problem is, for those who don’t know let me explain it.
Recently, I switched from Siteground hosting to Cloudways for a store of mine, and then a lot of my customers started complaining that they were not able to reset the password of their WooCommerce account.
Even though they were getting the reset password email but when clicked it you just redirected to an error page which said something like this “This key is invalid or has already been used. Please reset your password again if needed” creating a loop.
What was the reason, you ask?
It was actually Varnish Cache which was blocking WooCommerce cookies and preventing users to reset their passwords.
How to fix WooCommerce password reset issue in Cloudways?
- Log in to your Cloudways account and click on Applications at the top.
- Once you are there, click on the particular application on which you are facing the problem.
- Next step is to click on the application settings then Varnish settings and then click on “Add New Rule”.
- Now you will be prompted to add a new rule, in the first selection, select Cookie as it is the culprit, second click on exclude and in the value section add “wp-resetpass-*” and click on save.
That is all it, when you click on save, it should look like this.
